Pecherov Moves Closer To Return

Rookie forward Oleksiy Pecherov, who has been out of action since suffering a hairline fracture of his right ankle during practice Oct. 29, went through an extensive on-court workout yesterday at Verizon Center and is moving closer to a being cleared to participate in a full practice.

Pecherov, who was able to remove a protective walking boot last week, ran through plays with assistant coaches after the Wizards practiced in preparation for tonight's game at Milwaukee.

"It just felt good to be out there after not running for two and a half months," said Pecherov, the team's first-round pick in 2006 draft who has yet to make his regular season debut as a Wizard. "Right now, I need to work a lot to get back into shape. I'm just working with the trainers, and hopefully it will heal and I can do some five-on-five work." [READ]
