The Associated Press has reported that prosecutors will drop their assault case against former NBA guard Latrell Sprewell.

Sprewell was accused of assaulting his girlfriend in front of their children.

Sprewell's lawyer, George Bellantoni, told the AP, "This is what Latrell maintained all along, that there was no merit to the charges."
