It doesn't look like Kevin Garnett's abdominal strain is going to improve enough to allow him to play against his former team in Minnesota on Friday night, according to the Boston Globe.

The Timberwolves planned to introduce Garnett first to allow for a lengthly applause but had nothing else planned.

"I think this is the first time he's been out like this, and he's gotten better each day as far as handling his emotions and not being able to play," Boston Coach Doc Rivers told the Globe. "He's working hard and we have to be careful with that, that he doesn't overdo it."
