The Houston Rockets downed the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night to record their twentieth-straight win, tied for second on the NBAs all-time list. Tracy McGrady led the Rockets with 28 points and 9 rebounds and Chuck Hayes added 8 points and 12 boards in the victory. Both teams shot just 33% from the floor, but Houston scored nineteen points off Atlanta turnovers. Joe Johnson starred for the Hawks with 28 points and 8 rebounds, while Josh Smith added 16 points and 22 boards in defeat. The Rockets trailed by one point heading into the third quarter, but rallied in the second half to continue their streak.

Five players reached double-digits in scoring as the Boston Celtics soared past the Seattle Supersonics on Wednesday night. Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett each notched 18 points for the Celtics, who hit 50% of their shots and capitalized on the Sonics twenty-two turnovers. Kevin Durant led Seattle with 16 points and Johan Petro added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the loss. The Sonics shot 38% from the field, going just 1-for-14 from behind the three-point line.

Crawford had 14 fourth-quarter points, almost single-handedly sending Miami to their sixth-straight loss.

The New Jersey Nets held off a furious fourth-quarter charge by the Cleveland Cavaliers to record just their fourth win since trading Jason Kidd to Dallas. Richard Jefferson had 24 points and 6 assists and Josh Boone added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the Nets, who shot 51% on the night and overcame a poor rebounding performance. LeBron James notched 42 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and Devin Brown added 19 points and 7 boards for Cleveland, who turned the ball over 17 times and had won five of their previous six games.

The New Orleans Hornets outscored the San Antonio Spurs 24-8 in the fourth quarter to secure a huge win in the tight Western Conference on Wednesday night. David West had 29 points and 10 rebounds and Chris Paul added 26 points and 17 assists for the Hornets, who shot 58% from the field and outrebounded the Spurs by eighteen. Tim Duncan notched 24 points and 11 rebounds and Tony Parker added 24 points of his own for the Spurs, who were thoroughly outplayed in all aspects of the game at the New Orleans Arena.
