Seattle Post-Intelligencer - Several reluctant and irritated Sonic players had to be coerced to participate in a prearranged postgame event following the 79-66 loss to the Houston Rockets , the Seattle Post-Intelligencer is reporting.
In a pre-arranged event, six Sonic players were supposed to remove their shoes, walk through the tunnel and give them to fans, but those players decided to shower and get dressed before returning.
It took a visit from Assistant General Managers Scott Perry and Richard Cho to sternly remind the players of their obligations before the players complied.
Robert Swift was introduced by public address announcer Matt Pitman and walked first through the tunnel. Swift, however, took his shoes, handed them to two of the first fans he saw and then exited, never walking fully through the tunnel onto the court. Pitman was left standing there.
Earl Watson attempted to exit the arena through a back door, according to a team official, but a marketing staff member instructed him to walk onto the court. An irritated Watson said to the staff member, "Don't yell at me unless you're my parent."
The four other players were Kevin Durant, Mickael Gelabale, Johan Petro, and Francisco Elson. [READ]
