Several NBA executives think that the Bobcats offered Emeka Okafor more than he will be worth in the open market, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

Charlotte offered the restricted free agent a long-term extension worth roughly $12 million a season, but he turned it down.

He has the option to sign a one-year tender and become an unrestricted free agent in 2009.

RealGM Note: As the 35th ranked player according to the FIC, Okafor 'deserved' to make $12.4 million during the 2007-08 season.
