L.A. Uses Strong Third To Down Denver

Pau Gasol led the Los Angeles Lakers to an important Game One victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday afternoon.

Gasol had 36 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists and Kobe Bryant tallied 32 points in the win for the Lakers, who hit 50% of their shots and went 9-for-20 from behind the three-point line.

Carmelo Anthony posted 30 points and 12 rebounds and Allen Iverson contributed 30 points, 7 assists and 5 boards for the Nuggets, who were outscored by seventeen points in the third quarter.

Iverson was ejected late in the fourth quarter after receiving his second technical foul.

The Lakers will host Game Two on Wednesday night.
