Andrew Perna/RealGM - The Magic put up a fight in Game Two against Pistons on Monday night, but Detroit came away with a 100-93 victory and a 2-0 series lead.
Chauncey Billups had 28 points and 5 rebounds and Tayshaun Prince tallied 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 dimes for the Pistons, who hit 47% of their shots and forced eighteen Orlando turnovers.
Billups was credited with a three-pointer at the end of the third quarter that gave the Pistons a four-point lead heading into the final twelve minutes. However, there was some contention as to whether the bucket should have counted.
Detroit inbounded the ball with 5.1 seconds left on the clock in the third, but a malfunction caused it to stop at 4.8 second mark as play continued.
The referees conferred for several minutes, deciding that the basket would count. TNT later replayed the possession using an internal clock, revealing that the ball didn't leave Billups' hand before time ran out.
Dwight Howard looked better than he did in Game One, posting 20 points and 14 rebounds and Rashard Lewis added 20 points and 5 rebounds for Orlando in the loss.
The Magic shot just 42% from the floor and outrebounded Detroit by three.
The Pistons led by ten at the half, but Orlando caught fire in the third making seven three-pointers in a 36-point quarter.
The Magic trailed 94-91 with 49 seconds left on the clock as Hedo Turkoglu missed a three-pointer out of a timeout. From that point on it became a free throw exhibition as the Pistons put the game away.
Game Three will be Wednesday night in Orlando. [READ]
