The Lakers could wait to extend the contract of Andrew Bynum until his receives a clean bill of health, according to the Los Angeles Times.

He underwent a second examination on Monday and is waiting for the results of an exam on Wednesday, which could mean surgery on his troublesome left knee.

He has one more year remaining on his contract but could sign an extension of up to five years this July.

He will make $2.8 million next season should L.A. decide to wait to extend his current deal.
