Mike D'Antoni still must fulfill a six-week obligation to Team USA this summer as the top assistant to Coach Mike Krzyzewski at the Beijing Olympics, according to The New York Post.

The additional work will limit the amount of time D'Antoni will be able to spend in New York working with his new players and Knicks' executive Donnie Walsh.

He will not back out of the job, having called USA president Jerry Colangelo on Saturday to inform him that he is still very committed to the gig.

"Mike called me and told me he wouldn't miss it for the world," Colangelo told The Post Sunday. "He probably has the most thorough knowledge of international basketball of all NBA coaches."
