Don Nelson was awarded around $6.3 million in the arbitration case against Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban, the Dallas Morning News is reporting.

Nelson filed for arbitration on his claim the Mavericks owed him more than $6 million in deferred salary from when Ross Perot Jr. owned the team.

"It was not so much a defeat of Cuban as it was an ass-whipping," O'Connor said. "Cuban's lawyers did a good job of painting lips on a pig."
