The 76ers say they will honor their former home, the Wachovia Spectrum, by playing a regular-season game at the arena. The NBA released its 2008-09 schedule yesterday, and the Sixers announced that they would play one of their games - against the Chicago Bulls on March 13 - at the Spectrum, which is earmarked for demolition. "We're thrilled to bring the Sixers back home to play one more time in the Spectrum," said Ed Snider, the chairman of Comcast-Spectacor, which owns the Sixers. "This night is designed for our fans to relive the great Sixers' memories there and for those fans who were never able to see them play at the Spectrum." |
