The Mavericks are sending second-round pick Shan Foster overseas for a season in hopes that he'll polish his game, according to The Star-Telegram.

Foster, a three-point specialist, was taken with the 51st pick in June's NBA Draft and originally hoped to compete for playing time at shooting guard.
