Portland point guard Steve Blake is happy with his contract and appears motivated heading into the new season, according to The Oregonian.

"I want to prove I can be a starter for a long time, not just for one year," Blake said. "And I want to prove that I can be the starting point guard on a championship team."

Blake averaged a career-high 8.5 points and 5.1 assists last season. He'll make $4.2 million in 2008-09, but that number will fall to $4.0 million if the Blazers opt to pick up his option for the 2009-10 campaign.

"I have mine," Blake says. "What I do works for me, and I'm happy with what I have."
