The Warriors know guard Monta Ellis lied about how he injured his left ankle but they have not revealed how he suffered the injury, according to San Francisco Chronicle.

An unnamed team source said that the injury "happened outdoors and not while playing basketball" over the weekend, but the source wouldn't reveal how it occurred.

The Warriors declined to comment on Monday.

"We are not going to comment until we have an opportunity to speak with all the appropriate parties involved," the team said in a statement.
