Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy has learned to text message, which has helped him keep in contact with his players more efficiently.

"Stan learned to text message," center Dwight Howard said. "He's pretty good at it."

Players were happy to hear from Van Gundy because they didn't have to this summer. Some like the softer side of Van Gundy because they seemed to be intimidated in the beginning.

"When we first heard it, it was like, 'This guy screams too much; it's starting to get on our nerves. I don't know if I can take it too much," Rashard Lewis said. "Maybe I'll have to scream back at him.' That's just the way he coaches, even when we're playing hard."

"He talks loud. He coaches loud. He's trying to get his point across. It pays off in the long run."
