Jazz forward Carlos Boozer barely played for the United States Olympic team in Beijing, but the experience helped him prepare for the upcoming season. "Over there, I learned from some of the best players," Boozer said. "It was more of a mental thing – more mental preparation for this season than physical - because we never stopped playing. It was great to watch what was going on, to practice against them (his "Redeem Team" teammates) and to learn a great deal." Utah Coach Jerry Sloan believes that Boozer is a winner, and it's a big reason why he was in Beijing and will help lead the Jazz this season. "He's won all his life. That's what I try to tell these guys today – everyone thinks you have to have numbers, but you have to win," Sloan explained. "He didn't play a lot, but he was part of the team. He accepted that. That's what being a player is all about. I haven't heard him say one negative thing at all." |
