There were four early games on the slate in the NBA on Sunday, with the rest of the world focused on Super Bowl XLIII. In case you missed the action, here are RealGM's daily recaps.

Team FIC Differential: Celtics +13.1, Timberwolves -13.1

Kevin Garnett sat out against his former team, but the Celtics (40-9) still prevailed against the Timberwolves (16-30) to become the league’s first team with forty wins. Paul Pierce starred with 36 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, Ray Allen scored 22 points, and Glen Davis added 12 points and 6 boards in Garnett’s place. Both teams shot 48%, but Boston outrebounded Minnesota by four and attempted seven more foul shots. Al Jefferson had 34 points and 11 rebounds, Randy Foye tallied 21 points and 9 assists, and Ryan Gomes turned in 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting in the loss.

The Magic (36-10) used a 34-18 advantage in the third quarter to defeat the Raptors (19-30) on Sunday at Air Canada Centre. Dwight Howard led with 29 points and 14 rebounds, Jameer Nelson tallied 18 points, 10 assists and 8 boards, and Mickael Pietrus contributed 22 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. Orlando outrebounded Toronto by five, and limited the home team to 40% shooting. Jose Calderon had 16 points and 6 assists, Joey Graham posted 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Chris Bosh added 11 points and 9 boards for the Raptors.

The Pistons (25-21) led by eight points heading into the fourth quarter, but collapsed down the stretch against the Cavaliers (37-9). LeBron James starred with 33 points and 8 assists, Maurice Williams posted 22 points and 7 rebounds, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas turned in 13 points and 8 boards in the victory. Cleveland outrebounded Detroit by seven and held the Pistons to 42% shooting at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Allen Iverson scored 22 points on 9-for-19 shooting, Amir Johnson tallied 10 points and 9 rebounds, and Rodney Stuckey struggled through a 6-points and 8-assist performance.

John Salmons made a pair of free throws near the end of overtime, and the Kings (11-38) kept the Thunder (11-37) from converting on the final possession of the game. Kevin Martin had 37 points, Salmons tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists, and Francisco Garcia added 17 points, 7 dimes and 5 boards in the win. Oklahoma City outrebounded Sacramento by six, but turned the ball over four more times. Russell Westbrook led with 34 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds, Kevin Durant posted 33 points and 5 boards, and Jeff Green contributed 28 points, 12 rebounds and 5 dimes in the loss.
