David West of the New Orleans Hornets has been suspended one game without pay for striking Mike Miller of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the head, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
The incident, in which West was assessed a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two, occurred with 1:53 remaining in the second period of the Hornets 101-97 home victory over the Timberwolves at New Orleans Arena.
West will serve his suspension tonight when the Hornets visit the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum.
