The Boston Celtics will not be making a trade, but they are hoping that Joe Smith remains with the Oklahoma City Thunder and then negotiates a buyout, Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated is reporting.

Should Smith hit the open market, Boston is hoping to use their open roster spot to sign the veteran forward.
