Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich is expected to play against the Heat on Monday night despite a bruised right quadriceps.

The same injury kept Tim Thomas out for a week, but Hinrich is going to try to play through the pain.

"He's not doing real well, and we need him, no question," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "He's got a pretty big bruise, and he's really stiff. If Kirk can play, I know he will."

If Hinrich does play, he's expected to spend a lot of time guarding Dwyane Wade, the NBA's leading scorer.
