The Sacramento Bee is reporting that the Kings are offering free agent forward Chris Gatling the veteran's minimum of $1 million. At this point the versatile scorer and rebounder, who sometimes has an aversion to defense, is not ready to accept that deal.

In fact, there is the possibility the Kings may not put Webber on the injury list. That would mean they might not choose to add to their roster either Jabari Smith or Mario Bennett, both free agents.

The Kings are attempting to eliminate as much of a luxury-tax penalty as possible at the end of the season when payments are established and due.
