The Celtics defeated the Bulls, 109-99, on Saturday night in the seventh game of one of the best series in NBA playoff history.

Boston used a dominant 29-11 edge in the second quarter to seize control of the game.

Ray Allen led with 23 points and 7 rebounds, Kendrick Perkins posted 13 points and 12 boards, and Glen Davis added 15 points off the bench.

Boston shot 44% from the field, while holding Chicago to 40% shooting at TD Banknorth Garden.

Paul Pierce had 20 points and 7 rebounds, and Rajon Rondo stuffed the stat sheet with 7 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.

Chicago was led by Ben Gordon, who scored 33 points on 7-for-22 shooting, while being hampered by a strained hamstring all series long.

Joakim Noah tallied 7 points and 15 rebounds, Brad Miller had 9 points and 7 boards, and rookie star Derrick Rose contributed 18 points on 9-for-18 shooting, with 2 assists and 3 turnovers.

Five of the series' seven games when into overtime, including the triple-overtime thriller in Game 6.

The Bulls led the game 28-23 after the first quarter, before nine turnovers doomed them in the second period.

Boston's bench scored 30 points after being outplayed throughout a majority of the series.
