LeBron James led the Cavaliers to an emphatic win over the Hawks on Tuesday night in his first game since being crowned as the MVP in the NBA.

The Cavaliers (1-0) dominated the second half with a 50-28 scoring edge to take Game 1 against the Hawks (0-1) on Tuesday night. LeBron James starred with 34 points and 10 rebounds, Delonte West posted 13 points and 9 assists, and Maurice Williams scored 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Cleveland drilled 46% of their shots, while holding Atlanta to 43% at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavaliers won the rebounding battle by eight, and committed just seven turnovers. The Hawks, meanwhile had 17 miscues and went just 9-for-18 from the foul line. Josh Smith had 22 points and 6 rebounds, Mike Bibby tallied 19 points and 8 assists, and Joe Johnson added 11 points and 6 assists on 5-for-10 shooting in the loss.

Carmelo Anthony scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to propel the Nuggets (2-0) past the Mavericks (0-2) at the Pepsi Center. Nene led with 25 points and 8 rebounds, Chauncey Billups tallied 18 points and 8 assists, and Anthony finished with 25 points, 5 board and 5 dimes in the win. Denver shot 50% from the field, while winning the rebounding battle by five. The teams attempted a combined seventy foul shots, with the Nuggets taking forty of them. Both teams took good care of the basketball, but the Mavericks were outscored 31-22 in the fourth quarter. Dirk Nowitzki starred with 35 points and 9 rebounds, Jason Terry posted 21 points and 6 assists, and Jason Kidd chipped in 4 points, 7 dimes and 6 boards in the defeat.
