Bulls guard Derrick Rose had a successful first season, winning the NBA's Rookie of the Year award, but wants to improve on a variety of things this summer.

"I need to work on my jump shot, my defense and becoming a leader," Rose told the Chicago Tribune. "I've got to lead the team better. I've got to control the game a little more as a point guard."

Rose helped the Bulls push the defending-champion Celtics to seven games in the first round, while refusing to force his own offense.

"I'm still a point guard," Rose said. "I can't come down and shoot seven shots in a row. I still have to look for people and get them open."
