Rockets forward Shane Battier surprised himself with his playoff career-high 23 points against the Lakers on Sunday.

Battier outscored Kobe Bryant, who he helped limit to 15 points in Game 4 of the semifinal series between Houston and Los Angeles.

"This box score may be framed in my house somewhere," Battier said with a laugh. "I don't think it's going to happen too often in my career."

Battier went 6-for-12 from the field, including 5-for-10 from three-point land.

"I've been open pretty much all series," Battier said. "And with Yao out, we have to find ways to score.

"Coach (Rick Adelman) told me, 'If you're open for 3, shoot it. Shoot 20 3s if you're open. It's a good shot for us.' "
