In her first jailhouse interview, Cristal Taylor told The Dallas Morning News that she is pregnant with Dirk Nowitzki's child and that they were indeed engaged prior to her May 6 arrest at Nowitzki's home.

Taylor said their engagement suddenly broke off and her life unraveled when Nowitzki's longtime German coach urged a prenuptial agreement and an investigation of her past.

"I've known Dirk for seven years – and, no, I didn't tell him everything about my past because I was afraid," Taylor said. "But, I mean, now I'm pregnant and alone and broke because he is my only source of income."

Taylor said Nowitzki hasn't contacted her, directly or indirectly, since her arrest.
