After the Orlando Magic beat the Cleveland Cavaliers to go up 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals, Stan Van Gundy declined an opportunity to expressly state that LeBron James receives favorable calls from the referees.

Van Gundy said that doing so would cost him a league fine and give him a reputation as a whiner. But Van Gundy then seemed to encourage the media to write stories saying just that.

"You write a column," Van Gundy said to the media. "See, the league won't fine you $25,000 or whatever, so you write it. That's what I love — you guys see it but you don't want to write it, but you want me to comment on it. So now I'm a whiner and I get fined. You saw it. Write what you saw."

Dwight Howard fouled out on what replays clearly showed was a clean block of James' three-point attempt in the closing seconds of Sunday's game.
