The Nuggets were whistled for three technicals foul during their Game 4 win over the Lakers.

That brings their playoff tally to 17, a number that irrates coach George Karl.

"Those are things we've got to grow up and get by," Karl said.

J.R. Smith, Kenyon Martin and Carmelo Anthony picked up technicals in the fourth quarter on Monday night.

After the game, Martin said that he plans to appeal his technical.

Denver point guard Chauncey Billups said that the team will try to reduce their transgressions.

"It's a fine line, because these games mean so much," Billups said. "But at the same time you've got to be smart. ... You just got to continue to play."
