The hiring of Eddie Jordan as the new coach of the 76ers isn't going to affect the decision of point guard Andre Miller.

Jordan has already expressed his desire to re-sign Miller, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

Andy Miller, the guard's agent, said the coaching change won't play a role in his client's decision.

"My problem isn't the coach, it's the economy," the agent said.

"Andre knew what was going on. Ed [Sixers president/general manager Stefanski] texted him, and Andre didn't seem to have any issue [with the choice]. I don't think it dawned on him as a factor."

The agent told the Philadelphia Daily News that he expects Miller to receive a significant amount of interest, but that he has also valued his time with the 76ers.

"The value of what he has done for the Sixers franchise is also a factor," Andy Miller said. "You can't underestimate that. I think they would be hard-pressed to find a significant replacement based on the economy or the production element. And I'm saying that, knowing that I represent [Virginia Commonwealth point guard] Eric Maynor. I don't think you can ask a rookie to go in and do what Andre has done."
