Magic guard Mickael Pietrus didn't receive a fine or suspension for flagrantly fouling Pau Gasol in the closing seconds of Game 4.

However, he has still had to answer a multitude of questions from the media.

"I wasn't trying to be a jerk," Pietrus said. "I've been in the NBA for seven years and have never been considered a dirty player. It was just a hard foul and I love Pau; we've played so many times together in Europe. That's how it is."

Lakers coach Phil Jackson was asked during a teleconference on Friday what he thought of the foul.

"I won't weigh in on that," Jackson said. "I don't think it's necessary. We know that [with] these things, a lot of it is arbitrary. It looked like a serious intention to come at [Gasol]. There was a Flagrant 1 called on it, but that's just the way the game is now. You just don't know what's going to be judged as a flagrant foul and what isn't. ...

"I'm not a good enough judge of that yet. I haven't got a good enough idea of what the league's doing to understand that in totality."
