Leon Powe, who signed with the Cavaliers on Wednesday, is moving his rehabilitation to Cleveland.

Powe has been rehabbing his injured left knee five days a week in Los Angeles, but plans to move to Cleveland by the end of the month to continue the treatment.

"I'm going to get a lot of grief for it," Powe said told the Cleveland Plain Dealer of his physical therapist. "She loves me."

Powe isn't expected to return to the court until midseason, and he's had three surgeries on his balky left knee. He's motivated to prove the Celtics, who didn't extend him a qualifying offer at the end of the season, wrong.

"They said they couldn't do anything for me," Powe said. "I didn't understand that. From my standpoint, I was looking at it like I'm a loyal person. They told me it was a business. But I thought they were at least going to offer me a one-year deal to see if I made it back on my feet. But in talking to me, they gave me no indication they were going to do anything. That's when we all got a little bit worried.

"I'm naturally a hard worker. I've always got a chip on my shoulder, regardless of what happened in the past. I want to get back. I want to prove to everybody that I work extremely hard and that I'm going to work just as hard on my knee and try to get back out there on the court. I'm not going to rush it. I'm going to get back out there when I'm ready. I think we'll all know when I'm ready to get out there and go full speed."
