Hawks veteran forward Joe Smith sat most of the team's scrimmage on Sunday with a tweaked left ankle.

He decided to stay off the court as a precaution.

"I just had to get up out of there," Smith told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "It was super-competitive out there and I just didn't want to take any chances messing around on it after I twisted it. It's fine, though."
