Warriors guard Monta Ellis sprained his left ankle against the Lakers on Wednesday night and did not return.

Golden State lost 118-101 to Los Angeles in the preseason game.

Ellis suffered the injury just over a minute into the game when he stepped on a cameraman's foot while rushing back on the defensive end.

According to a team official, Ellis was being held out for precautionary reasons.
