Del Harris resigned as assistant coach for the Nets last week two days after president Rod Thorn indicated that he would not be the team's next head coach, according to The Star-Ledger. NBA officials told the newspaper that Harris' agent, Warren LeGarie, told Thorn that Harris should take over while current head coach Kiki Vandweghe moves back to the front office in order to begin preparation for next season. One official told The Star-Ledger that Thorn interrupted LeGarie and said, "Hold it right there. All due respect, he will not be the next head coach here. So if he has any delusions about that, you should let him know it's not going to happen." When Harris got the word from LeGarie on Tuesday, he resigned. |
