Terry's All-Star Game Wild, 3-Point Shooting Fun

For the last couple of weeks, Jason Terry has asked sponsors and fans to give to the UNCF.

On Sunday, Terry and his NBA friends gave back to the community of Atlanta, in the form of a wild, free wheeling All-Star game.

A surprising number of NBA players attended, but few were of significant height, leaning more towards Terry’s 6’3 frame than anyone of Shaq-like proportions.

“We point guards have to stick together. I am appreciative of the way my NBA friends and family have come together here and supported this cause,” said the gracious host Terry.

Some of the guard heavy roster included Nick Van Exel, Kenny Anderson, Sam Cassell, Derek Anderson, Jamaal Tinsley, Jamal Crawford, Terry, DerMarr Johnson, and Baron Davis.

Some of the frontcourt players included Shareef Abdur-Rahim (whose game is out of place in these non-fundamental dunkfests), Charles Oakley, James Posey, and Jermaine O’Neal.

Musselman to be named Warriors Head Coach

The Golden State Warriors will name Hawks assistant Eric Musselman as their head coach, NBA sources told ESPN's David Aldridge on Wednesday.

The sources say Musselman will receive a deal worth between $4.5 million and $5 million over three years. There was no word Wednesday night on when the announcement would be made.

Musselman has spent past two years as an assistant with the Hawks after spending two seasons in Orlando.

Musselman, who spent seven years as a head coach in the CBA, is the son of the late Timberwolves coach Bill Musselman.

Get Off DerMarr's Back

As the Shaw’s Summer League in Boston came to a close, the Hawks and Head Coach Eric Musselman declared that they had accomplished every goal they had come to achieve.

But, to hear a nation of watchers tell it, the Hawks still have one player who underwhelmes and is still underachieving.

DerMarr Johnson.

The critics say he is a disappointment, some go so far as to say he’s a bust. But, in the rush to declare the 22 year old guard/forward the next fill-in-the-blank, people have begun to focus on what Johnson can’t do, instead of seeing what he is doing.

RealGM's Jason Walker looks back at the draft class of 2000 and writes about the progress of the much discussed Hawks swingman.
