Hawks Waive Glyniadakis And Brown

The Atlanta Hawks today waived Andre Brown and Andreas Glyniadakis, according to Hawks' Executive Vice President and General Manager Billy Knight.

The 6-9 Brown appeared in two exhibition contests, averaging 3.0 ppg and 1.3 rpg in 6.0 mpg (2-2 FGs, 2-2 FTs). He played collegiately at DePaul, and spent last season with the Daegu Orions in South Korea.

Williams Sustains Non-Displaced Fracture In Hand

Atlanta Hawks forward Marvin Williams has sustained a non-displaced fracture of the third metacarpal of his left hand, according to Hawks head athletic trainer Wally Blase.

The injury occurred during today's workout on the Hawks practice court. He was examined this afternoon by Hawks team physician Dr. Michael Bernot, and placed in a protective cast. Williams is expected to be out of action for six-to-eight weeks, but none of his off-court conditioning activities will be limited, according to Blase.

Hawks Release Chalmers, Dickens

Atlanta Hawks Executive Vice President and General Manager Billy Knight announced today that the team has requested waivers on guard Lionel Chalmers and forward Kaniel Dickens.

Chalmers missed all of preseason action with a right ankle strain, while Dickens played in two preseason games, averaging 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds.
