If Doc Rivers can trim down his rotation the way forward Al Jefferson trimmed his body, the Celtics coach would be thrilled.
Rivers used 14 different starters last season, including a hefty Jefferson, and that amounted to just a 33-49 record and no playoff berth.

Wally Szczerbiak and his wife were setting up their permanent residence outside Boston, but the trade rumors involving him in a deal for Allen Iverson were making the summer stressful for the Celtics' swingman.
“Things had calmed down by then,” he said. “Danny assured me then that pretty much everything had blown over.”
His knee is also feeling much better.
“There’s no question,” he said. “I’m moving so much better. I feel good. We took care of everything we needed to take care of. It was a pretty minor procedure. I’ve been working hard all summer, just doing a lot of rehab and strength work. Now we’re starting to amp up the running and the full-court work.”

Sebastian Telfair has been settling into his new environment in Boston quite well; spending his time working out at the Celtics facility and getting accustomed to the city.
“I’m loving it,” he said. “I keep getting lost every time I go downtown with the tunnels and all that, but I’m getting used to it. And when I walk around and I see a lot of the fans, they’re excited that I’m here. That’s a great thing to feel.”
