The Seattle SuperSonics have waived forward Ira Newble. Newble was acquired by the Sonics in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 21. He logged 17 minutes in two games for Seattle.

LBJ Reaches 10,000 In The RGM Daily Rundown For Feb. 27th's Games

LeBron James became the youngest player in NBA history to score 10,000 points as the Cavaliers took on the Celtics in Boston on Wednesday night. He left the court after spraining his ankle in the first half, but returned to reach the milestone and nearly led Cleveland to a win over the East-leading Celtics. The Atlanta Hawks used a strong third quarter to knock off the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. Mike Bibby, who was a member of the Kings just a few weeks ago, notched 24 points and 12 assists and Al Horford added 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks, who went 35-for-40 for the foul line and outrebounded Sacramento by six. Brad Miller led with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and Beno Udrih tallied 25 points and 8 assists for the Kings, who shot 49% from the field and notched 19 second chance points.

Deadlocked after three, the Chicago Bulls pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat the Indiana Pacers last night. Larry Hughes had 29 points and 6 assists and Drew Gooden added 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Bulls, who shot 47% from the field and scored 29 points off Indiana turnovers. Mike Dunleavy notched 25 points and Travis Diener added 22 points and 9 assists for the Pacers, who shot just 41% on the night and coughed the ball up eighteen times.

Dwight Howard tallied 14 points and 16 rebounds and Hedo Turkoglu added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the Magic, who hit just 40% of their shots and turned the ball over twenty times.

Al Jefferson led the Timberwolves with 23 points and 5 rebounds, while Rashard McCants came off the bench to net 19 points in the loss.

Despite a strong fourth quarter run the Cleveland Cavaliers still fell at the hands of the East-leading Boston Celtics last night. Ray Allen led the Celtics with 22 points and Kevin Garnett added 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the victory. Boston shot 52% from the field, while holding Cleveland to just 38% on the night. LeBron James posted 26 points and 8 rebounds for the Cavs, who outrebounded the Celtics by seven and scored 26 points off Boston turnovers. Delonte West had 20 points for Cleveland in just his third game with the team.

The New York Knicks ran the Charlotte Bobcats out of Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night thanks to 22 points and 6 assists from Nate Robinson. Jamal Crawford added 20 points and Zach Randolph tallied 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Knicks, who shot 51% from the field and outrebounded the Bobcats by six. Emeka Okafor led Charlotte with 18 points and 14 rebounds and Nazr Mohammed added a double-double of his own in the loss. The Bobcats shot just 40% against the Knicks and have now lost eleven of their last twelve games.

The New Orleans Hornets notched an impressive seventeen-point win over the Phoenix Suns last night after getting incredible performances from all five starters. Chris Paul had 25 points and 15 assists, Tyson Chandler posted 12 points and 15 rebounds and David West added 27 points for the Hornets, who shot 53% and got 92 points from their starters. Amare Stoudemire led the Suns with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. The win allowed the Hornets to sweep their season series with the Suns. Steve Nash, who posted 8 points and 13 assists, didn’t hit his first field goal until the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Utah Jazz handed the Detroit Pistons their third loss in their last six games after coming from behind to win on Wednesday night. Trailing by eleven at the half, the Jazz cut the lead to four before taking over in the final period. Mehmet Okur led the Jazz with 24 points and 7 rebounds, while Carlos Boozer added 18 points and 15 boards in the win. The Pistons, who shot just 42% against Utah, were led by Richard Hamilton’s 22 points and the 10 rebounds of Antonio McDyess. Both teams turned the ball over just nine times.

Kevin Durant and Mickael Gelabale each had 16 points for the Sonics, who shot just 36% on the night and turned the ball over sixteen times. The Nuggets scored thirty or more points in each of the four quarters.

The Clippers shot just 31%, against 42% for the Blazers, but they made points up from the foul line and on second chance attempts. Corey Maggette led Los Angeles with 32 points and Tim Thomas added 21 points and 11 rebounds in defeat.

LeBron Becomes Youngest To 10,000 Points

LeBron James became the youngest player in history to reach 10,000 points on Wednesday night in Boston, scoring 26 points in the Cavaliers' 92-87 loss.

The milestone didn't come without a scare for James, who landed on Paul Pierce's ankle before halftime and missed the last 4:24 of the second quarter. X-rays were negative, and he was back for the start of the second half.
