Cavs Exec Pulls Out Of Bidding For Hawks GM Job

Cavaliers executive Chris Grant has rejected an offer from the Atlanta Hawks to become the team's new GM, the Marc Stein of ESPN.com is reporting.

NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com that Grant spent the weekend mulling Atlanta's proposal before ultimately deciding to stay in his role with the Cavaliers as a top aide to front-office chief Danny Ferry.

Sources said contract negotiations between Grant and the Hawks began after Spurs executive Dennis Lindsey's withdrawal and intensified to the point that Atlanta had ceased speaking to other candidates, expecting Grant to accept.

Could Cleveland Deal For Redd?

The Bucks and guard Michael Redd are no longer on the same page, and it appears as though the Cavaliers could make a play for the shooter, according to The Akron Beacon Journal.

Cleveland courted Redd in free agency a few years ago, but he elected to remain with Milwaukee.

Redd averaged 22.7 points in 72 games this season and played his college basketball at Ohio State.

Cleveland Will Have Traylor In Summer League

Robert "Tractor" Traylor will participate in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas as a member of the Cavaliers, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

It will be a tryout of sorts for Traylor, who previously spent two seasons with the team.

He has not played in the NBA since the 2004-05 season because of heart issues, but he played professionally in Spain and Puerto Rico over the last six months.

The team could use their midlevel exception on him if he impresses during the Summer League.
