Henderson Set To Return To Dallas On Tuesday

Alan Henderson and the Mavericks have an agreement in principle for the 6-10 forward to return to the team, possibly as early as Tuesday.

Henderson was traded with Calvin Booth to Milwaukee last Thursday. The Bucks waived Henderson the following day and he will clear waivers on Tuesday.

"We have an agreement," coach and general manager Don Nelson said. "Nothing is official until it is signed. But we feel very good about getting him back."

Nelson said he hopes to have Henderson on the upcoming road trip that starts Wednesday in Los Angeles vs. the Clippers.

In 52 games this season for Dallas, he averaged 3.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, primarily off the bench.

Stackhouse Back In Practice; Nowitzki Questionable For Tonight

The Mavericks may have suffered there fair share of injuries, however the good news is that there seems to be plenty of young guys willing to step up.

Now Mav’s sixth-man Jerry Stackhouse is gearing himself to get back into the lineup. Stackhouse has been out the past six games after aggravating a strained groin at Sacramento on Feb. 11 and is doubtful tonight against New Orleans at American Airlines Center.

"Looks pretty good, but we didn't do that much," Nelson said of Stackhouse's first practice. "I think we'll have him on the West Coast."

Mavericks all-star Dirk Nowitzki injured his right hamstring in Saturday’s melee versus Phoenix and as a result, sat out Sunday’s practice.

"I'm hoping to give it a go," Nowitzki said of tonight's game.

Nash May Sit Tonight’s Game Versus Dallas

Steve Nash, the cog that keeps the Suns machine rolling, will make a game-time decision as to whether he will play in tonight’s game versus the surging Dallas Mavericks.

Nash is at the mercy of his ailing left hamstring which kept him out of practice yesterday.

"Hamstrings are a little tricky," Nash said Friday before the Suns departed to Dallas for tonight's game against the Mavericks. "Every day you can work as hard as you can to get it better, but it's going to be ready when it's ready."

"I know he (Nash) wants to play, but he'll be smart enough to make a good decision," coach Mike D'Antoni said.
