Nuggets' Karl Wants More Out Of Carmelo

Nuggets' Head Coach George Karl wants more out of Carmelo Anthony on the defensive end, according to the Denver Post.

"We all think — from players, coaches to the organization — that Melo has constantly made improvement," Nuggets' Coach George Karl said. "Now, is he there yet? I think we want more. I think he wants more."

"I believe all leadership in young players comes through your action and attitude on a positive energy basis," Karl said. "I'm not a guy who believes you can take days off and games off because that takes away your ability to lead. I think Melo's in a stage in his career to where his next step is — how he carries his team to play better. Not how he plays better, but how he carries his team to play better."

Nene May Play Tonight

In a surprise move, Nuggets forward Nene scrimmaged with teammates on Wednesday then afterwards revealed that he may play tonight when Denver play Dallas, the Denver Post is reporting.

Nene has been cautious about returning following the removal of a testicular tumor in January.

According to the Post, Nene said five minutes would be a goal his first time out.

"But it will feel like 50 minutes," he said. "I'll be very thankful. I just hope I'll be able to hold myself emotionally. I'm nervous."
