Dreams of Jamison not that outrageous

Antawn Jamison, available to the Charlotte Bobcats in the veteran-dispersal draft.

OK, it's a long shot, perhaps even a pipe dream. But work with me here for a minute. The concept isn't as ridiculous as it might have been a week ago.

Bobcats hire Curry to run basketball relations

Dell Curry, an original member of the Charlotte Hornets, was hired Thursday to work with the expansion Bobcats as director of basketball relations.

It's the perfect role for Curry, who maintained a Charlotte home long after his playing days were over with the Hornets. Curry will be part of the Bobcats' community relations, public relations, and sales and marketing efforts. He'll also be an adviser and scout on the team's basketball operations staff.

Bickerstaff shopping for potential Bobcats

The expansion Bobcats don't begin play until next season but Bickerstaff and his scouts are starting to begin the leg work on finding future players. The Bobcats have the fourth selection in next year's draft. They'll be able to sign free agents and select players in an expansion draft. Each NBA team will be able to protect eight players on their roster and the remaining players are eligible for the expansion draft.
