Rytas Vilnius, Maccabi Tel-Aviv Chasing Ron Mercer?

Are Ron Mercer's days in the NBA over?

According to Eurobasket, Lithuantian team Rytas Vilnius are chasing Mercer to help strengthen their team, but they are not alone in their pursuit of the guard's services.

The piece also indicates that Maccabi Tel-Aviv are also interested in Mercer to replace the loss of Anthony Parker, who recently signed a contract with the Toronto Raptors.

Mercer sat out last season due to injury after being waived by the New Jersey Nets as their amnesty waiver.

Kevin Love Will Attend UCLA

Kevin Love, arguably one of the top two players in the class of 2007 with guard O.J. Mayo of North College Hill (Ohio) High, could go against his summer-league rival at least twice in 2007-08 if Mayo follows through with his private proclamation to the USC staff that he would sign with the Trojans.

The big Oregonian center decided that he would attend UCLA today.

"It would be crazy if we were both there [in L.A.]," Love said. "We have a good friendship and it would be a lot of fun. It'd be huge for the USC-UCLA rivalry."

Apparently, UCLA coach Ben Howland was so ecstatic that, according to Love, the UCLA coach was near tears.

Howland was recently met with a long-term contract extension from the legendary college program.
