The Seattle SuperSonics' intentions to move to San Jose are serious, but the league remains opposed to putting another team in Golden State's neighborhood.
San Jose played host to the Warriors for one season in the late-90's while the Oakland Arena was being remodeled. It is the biggest city in the San Francisco Bay Area and has had success supporting the Shark of the NHL.

Golden State's Chris Mullin wouldn't say if he came close to making a deal on Thursday, one after the gutsy Baron Davis trade, but he said teams were not offering enough and wanted too much in return. He said he never came across the "right piece" to make the Warriors better.
"I really wasn't anticipating one way or the other," Mullin said on a conference call. "I looked at a lot, not just today, but over the last several months. ... Anything we feel we need to address would be addressed later."
Mullin said he expects more options this offseason. Not only will more players be available, but his own players won't be as restricted by collective bargaining agreement rules. Guard Jason Richardson and Troy Murphy, perhaps the Warriors' two most attractive players, lose their base year compensation status in July, making them easier to trade.

Cleveland general Manager Danny Ferry isn't expected to make a drastic move today.
``I like coaching the players I have,'' Cavs coach Mike Brown said Wednesday. ``You never say never, but if we do anything at this point it would be a surprise.''
According to several league executives, the Cavs have been looking around for help at the guard positions. Their most tradeable player is Drew Gooden because of his value and the fact he's going to be a free agent.
But Ferry seems reluctant to trade him for just a guard, especially because he's been an excellent team player and has gotten more consistent as the season has progressed. With that in mind and a lack of salary-cap space or draft picks to use, the chances of a significant deal are slim.
The Cavaliers have reportedly discuss adding one of four guards; Derek Fisher, Tony Delk, Earl Watson and Keyon Dooling.
