Taft Waived By Golden State

The Golden State Warriors have waived forward Chris Taft, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today.

Taft was originally selected by the Warriors in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft. As a rookie in 2005-06, he appeared in 17 games, averaging 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.5 minutes per contest. He did not appear in any of the team’s 2006 preseason games due to muscular inflammation.

Nellie Rips Into Warriors

Don Nelson made it clear that he was supremely disappointed with the Warriors' performance on Tuesday.

"It looked like the team last year. It made me kind of sick, watching that," Nelson said of the first half, when he spent his timeouts chewing out his players. "It's not good enough. Just not doing much of anything, not remembering what we were doing as a team, not following our game plan, not guarding. I mean, there wasn't hardly anything that they did right. There were so many things for me to correct, I couldn't do it. That's how bad it was."
