Jeff Van Gundy was reportedly not involved in the process that led the Rockets to name Daryl Morey their next general manager, but this does not mean that his days as head coach are numbered.
"With any change, it's never one change," Van Gundy said. "There are more changes. That's how it is. When there is a major change in any organization, there are more changes on the horizon.
"And yet, I can honestly say, whether that includes me or doesn't include me, I haven't given it one thought. I'm happy with where I'm at. I like the guys I work with both coaching staff-wise and the players. And really, I'm only thinking about trying to win tomorrow night."

Rockets owner Leslie Alexander has chosen Boston Celtics statistical analyst Daryl Morey to be his next general manager, succeeding Carroll Dawson after the 2006-07 season.
Morey, the Celtics' senior vice president of operations and information, who has never been a player, coach, scout or general manager, has worked under Boston owner Wyc Grousbeck for the past three seasons.
Morey, 32, will become the Rockets' assistant general manager under Dawson next month before assuming the GM position after next season.
"C.D. is going to be with the organization for a long time," Alexander said. "He will be a great adviser. He will remain an integral part of what we do."
When he sked whether Dawson or Morey will make decisions that affect the team beyond Dawson's tenure as general manager, Alexander said, "C.D. is the top guy for the next year. He's the boss."

"I think everybody has a lot to play for and coach for," Jeff Van Gundy said on Wednesday. "We're going to play to win. We need to put a lot of pressure on our guys to see if they're just guys who can eat up a lot of minutes like middle relievers or if they can really play in a winning environment.
"I think (with this) being the third year (as Rockets coach), we've had a lot of changeover," Van Gundy said. "What you want to have established is a winning culture and how you do things and how important it is to do the things you're asked to do correctly and right. I think when you have as much changeover as we've had, sometimes that gets lost. You have to make sure everybody has the right amount of intensity and discipline and knowledge so they can play their very best.
"For all of our guys, this is a very important stretch. Even though it may not be reflected in the standings right now, it is (important) for their futures."
