Rockets Find Way To Win Despite McGrady's Bruised Hip

Last season, when Tracy McGrady or Yao Ming were hurt, the Rockets usually collapsed. This season, they've got the supporting cast to win those games.

Yao scored 25 points, Shane Battier hit a pair of key 3-pointers and added 17, and the Rockets beat the Timberwolves 82-75 on Tuesday night.

T-Mac: KG Will Never Force His Way Out Of Minnesota

Tracy McGrady forced his way out of Orlando when the franchise begun to struggle and it appeared as though he would not be able to help the Magic win there. Many have encouraged Kevin Garnett to do likewise in Minnesota, but McGrady says it won't happen.

"Me knowing KG, I know how loyal he is," McGrady said. "He's been there so long, he's stuck through everything that's been going on there. Everybody is talking about how he should demand things and get out, but he's a loyal guy."

T-Mac Doesn't Care Who 'The Man' Is In Houston

The Tracy McGrady-Yao Ming combo looks a lot like the Kobe Bryant-Shaquille O'Neal one on the surface, but there is far less concern from both parties on who 'the man' might be.

"I never did," said McGrady. "I had no choice (in Orlando) but to go out and carry the team, because I didn’t have Grant Hill. When I came here, I’ve got a big guy that I can go throw the ball to and he gets 25 shots a night and I could defer to him.

"I’m all about winning. I’m a very unselfish player," he said. "For me, it’s all about getting Ws. I’ve won scoring championships. I don’t care about none of that stuff no more. I’m at a point in my career where I just want to win ballgames. So if that’s going out averaging 12, 15 points and we’re winning ballgames, so be it."
