Could Clippers Trade Camby At Deadline?

With the Clippers off to a 2-12 start, center Marcus Camby could become a valuable trade asset around February's trading deadline.

Camby's name even surfaced last week when the Clippers agreed to a four-player deal with the Knicks.

"After the trade went down, I talked with (coach) Mike (Dunleavy), and he said they want me here," Camby said Tuesday. "I still understand the nature of the business. I know, around trade deadline time, probably a lot of contenders will try to look to add me to their team."

Knicks Finalize Randolph Trade With Clips

The New York Knicks have finally signed off on the trade which will send Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to the L.A. Clippers for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley, J.A. Adande from ESPN.com is reporting.

The Knicks had been delaying signing off on the deal pending further tests on Mobley's heart, but now appear to be satisfied that it will not be an issue.

Thomas was expected to be in uniform Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Knicks, though, did not expect Mobley to play.

Knicks Finalize Trade

The trade sending Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to the Clippers for Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas is now final.

There was a last-minute concern about the physical health of Cuttino Mobley that jeopardized completion of the deal.

But the Knicks have now signed off on the trade and Mobley and Thomas will be in uniform on Tuesday when the Knicks host LeBron James and the Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden.

The trade gives the Clippers the inside scoring threat the team has sought since losing Elton Brand in free-agency.

The deal gives the Knicks sizable salary cap room, perhaps enough for two maximum contract slots, for the summer of 2010 when several NBA stars will be available on the free-agent market.
