Miami was among several teams that visited Chicago recently to view a workout by free agent guard Shaun Livingston.
Pat Riley also said this week that the Heat remain in negotiations with restricted free agent Chris Quinn, who had been extended a one-year, $1 million qualifying offer this summer.
